Buchanan Road

New two-storey affordable family housing for rent and sale at the edge of Helensburgh, including two supported care houses and community leisure facilities.  

All homes have been designed to be energy efficient, and feature breathing-wall technology and passive stack ventilation.

They  are orientated to make the most of passive solar gain into living accommodation with  south-facing living areas incorporating large windows with tiled heat-sink areas directly below them.

The tiled areas absorb heat through the day and dissipate this during the night thus helping to buffer extreme temperature changes and help minimise heating costs during the winter months.

The project also included  environmental improvements to benefit the wider community, with  a new multi-court pitch & changing facility.
