Auchterarder Community Campus provides nursery, primary and secondary school education, plus a range of community facilities. The design draws from the local townscape, history and materials traditionally used in the area to sensitively incorporate a sizeable school development in a small rural town, balancing community accessibility with security and appropriate scale. The project involved an unusual level of consultation with the community as well as school staff. Artists were involved from an early stage, resulting in an unusual and stimulating environment.
