We project-managed and facilitated a charrette for the area immediately adjacent to the historic Dumbarton Rock for West Dunbartonshire Council, Historic Scotland and the Scottish Government.
The charrette was an opportunity for local residents, businesses and others who were interested in the area and its heritage to get involved in the promotion of Dumbarton Rock as a destination and plan for its future. The charrette clearly illustrated the options for the area, and established a shared long-term vision for Dumbarton Rock and its immediate setting.
We developed a masterplan and action plan which turned the results of the charrette into a longer term strategy. This included a walkway beside the River Leven (which is now underway) and the formation of a local community and stakeholder group to clean up the quayside area beside Dumbarton Rock.
